What is RFID
RFID, or Radio Frequency Identification refers to a small electronic device that contains a chip and an antenna.  The RFID device serves the same purpose as a bar code or magnetic strip on the back of a credit card or ATM card; it provides a unique identifier for that object. Just as a bar code or magnetic strip, the RFID tag must be scanned to read the information. The difference between the systems currently in place which employ barcodes and magnetic strips and RFID is barcodes and magnetic strips either have to be swiped or scanned physically whereas with RFID the item just has to be in the vicinity of the reader to be scanned.

RFID systems consist of three main components utilized by your hotel:

      RFID TAGS
           RFID READERS

                                        SOFTWARE
Using the RFID Readers, inventory can be tracked and loaded into the Continual Movement software.
